What Does Egg Donation Feel Like?

Most donors experience only mild, temporary discomfort during the egg donation process. As the ovaries respond to medication, you may notice bloating, cramping, fullness, or pelvic pressure.

Egg retrieval is a short procedure performed under sedation, so you should not feel the retrieval itself. Some donors experience mild soreness, cramping, or bloating afterward, which typically improves within a few days.

Throughout the process, your care team monitors you closely and is available to help keep you comfortable, informed, and supported.
